The Truth...

W.D.J.D.

Hey for all of you who were at Camp Sharon's Narnia Camp, I hope you are all sharing what you learned at camp about yourselves (we are not good people) and taking it to those who need Christ. Many of you have asked for the W.D.J.D. notes, so I am posting them now...have fun with them and go out and seek and save that which is lost!

W- Would you consider yourself to be a good person?

D- Do you think you have kept the 10 commandments?

J- If you were to be judged based on the 10 commandments, would you be innocent or guilty?

D- Do you think you would go to heaven or hell?

I encourage you to also check out websites like Living Waters, Way of the Master, and Wretched Radio to continue to equip yourselves to better unfold the gosple in a way that majority of people have not yet heard it!

One Thing We Will Do In Youth Group

So what is that "One Thing That You Can't Do In Heaven?" That's right...share your faith! So the only place we can do actually share our faith is here on Earth while we are still breathing and have opportunity! That means you are able to share it in your community, your neghborhoods, your schools, your malls, your jobs...pretty much where ever there are people who don't know Christ!

So join me (Pastor Joe) every Wednesday night in the youth room from 6:30p.m.-7:30p.m. as we make our focus that "One Thing You Can't Do In Heaven.

Also youth I wanted to pass along an email from Mark Cahill you:
Good to hear from you Pastor Joe! Please tell the youth that I said hello.

Use the study guide off of the website to take the students through.
Challenge them each week to put it into practice. That will get most of
them out of their comfort zone and going for it.

Make sure 2009 Joe is the boldest year that you have had yet in planting
seeds with the lost!

Fishing Team Meeting 09-21-08

3 hours never went so quick as we met together as the "Fishing" team. We had such vibrant discussion concerning sharing our faith and dealing with some of our natural fears when it comes to bringing up the things of God with complete strangers and also with poeple we are close to...like family! Then we got creative and we begain to brainstorm ways in which we could not only have conversations with others, but how we could also serve them! Our principle is simply serve them and make the most of every opportunity! This means being ready to bring up a conversation and knowing what to say if they bring up the conversation about the things of God. So we hashed out some amazing ideas of how we could do both to "Connect Our Community to Christ!" One of the ideas that we will be implimenting on November 4th, is while people are on their way to go vote, we are going to post on our church sign to drive through for a cup of hot chocolate or coffee on their way to vote! We will be open at 6:00a.m. and begin our serive to our community! We will be praying that conversations may be started during this service and seeds be planted! Another idea came out of the fact that we are the only church on Pershing Rd. (a long strip of road with loads of businesses), therefore, we want to radically impact our community as we become more outward focused and go down Pershing Rd. to seek out establishments who are willing to allow us to go in and clean their bathrooms! Wow...and you know what happens when we do this...people will have to ask, why are you doing this...and I can't wait to tell them! All of this, while training "team captains" to go out to the lake and intentionally have concersations with others about the things of God, in order to be able to model for future teams how to use the Law effectively in sharing their faith! What a day! All I have to say is that this ministry of loving poeple, having compassion on people, serving people, training people, equipping people, and meeting people where they are at causes all the other junk that satan throws at us to fade away without even leaving a mark!

Brand New Blog!!

Okay for those of you who are frequent flyers of www.wayofthepastor.blogspot.com you know that myself and some others have been going out "fishing...for people!" We have already planted seeds and seen people turn their ways and put their trust in Jesus right on the docks! "Fishing Captains" are being organized at our church to be trained how to reach the lost the way Jesus did using the Law and they will also be equipped to train others to share their faith as well! My passion is to see the lost come to Christ and for those in Christ to come to the lost. However, it is not just a passion, it is what I do! I find time, I make time, I plan times throughout the day to go to my favorite fishing spots (Lake Decatur, Central Park in downtown Decatur, and Fairview Park). Sometimes I am albe to have conversations with people. Other times if there are no poeple walking around (because the majority of people have real jobs)...I just walk around and pray to let satan know that this is God's fishing spot now! I practice having conversations with people in lines, at the store, in a parking lot, anywhere I can to master the art of being personable and friendly! All of this because I care enough to do something about those who don't know Christ, who used to know Christ, who think they know Christ, who hate Christ, and who even think He doesn't exist! So let me know about your favorite fishing spots and what you are doing to fill up those nets!

Joe Drew
